Altrusa International, Inc. is a network of executives and professionals in diversified career classifications whose purpose is to promote and provide community service.
- Membership in Altrusa is by invitation only.
- Eligibility and classification are the two tests that a prospective member must pass.
- Membership is extended to individuals of good character; those who are recognized leaders in their business or profession, and who subscribe to the principles and purposes of Altrusa International, Inc.
Prospective members must also meet one of the following criteria:
- Be actively engaged in the practice of their profession as a degreed or registered or certified or licensed employee
or
- Be in the operation of legitimate businesses as owners, partners, officers, managers, local agents or branch representatives, or holders of important positions
or
- Be recognized for outstanding work in the community.
Local Club Expectations
A prospective member is expected to:
- Attend meetings regularly
- Pay dues promptly
- Take an active role in the business of the club
- Actively serve on committees
- Participate in projects and fundraisers of the club
- Promote Altrusa and its activities
