Altrusa International, Inc. is a network of executives and professionals in diversified career classifications whose purpose is to promote and provide community service.

Membership is extended to individuals of good character who are recognized leaders in their business or profession and subscribe to the principles and purposes of Altrusa International, Inc. Prospective members must also meet one of the following criteria:
- Be actively engaged in the practice of their profession as a degreed or registered or certified or licensed employee, or
- Be in the operation of legitimate businesses as owners, partners, officers, managers, local agents or branch representatives, or holders of important positions, or
- Be recognized for outstanding work in the community.
Local Club Expectations
A prospective member is expected to:
- Attend meetings regularly,
- Pay dues promptly,
- Take an active role in the business of the club,
- Actively serve on committees,
- Participate in projects and fundraisers of the club,
- Promote Altrusa and its activities.
